The Friends have been discussing the donor wall for about a year now, so what exactly is going on with that and how can we get this campaign off the ground? Let’s chat about it!
What’s the donor wall?
Good question! For background, the Donor Wall is located on the 1st floor of the RRPL. If you want to take a look at it, enter the library, walk straight back to the beautiful (and giant) art work on the 1st floor, and make a sharp right. Just across from the bathrooms you’ll see a wall made of silver plaques featuring names of some of our donors.
The funds we’ve raised from these donors were reinvested back into the library to support programs, activities, and materials needed by the community. We’re on a mission to fill in the rest of this wall by the end of 2025, and you can be a huge help with that while also cementing yourself in library history by purchasing a plaque with your name on it.
How exactly does this help the library?
Glad you asked. The library has a wishlist of items that would enhance the visitor experience & daily operations for library staff, but most importantly increase accessibility for everyone.
Some of the items on this wishlist include:
- Ceiling fans for the check-in room
- Additional chairs, display cases, and shelving for the upper levels
- Additional furniture for staff in the technical services workroom
- But most urgently – push automatic door openers for the main entrance, staff entrance, and public restrooms.
The push automatic door openers for the library public restrooms, specifically, are our current priority. Fortunately, we’re just a few more silver plaques away from having the funds we need for this.
How can you help?
Plaques are $300 for individuals, and $600 for businesses. These plaques can have your name, your families name, and even a quote. You can also purchase a plaque in memory of a loved one and include their name. Businesses can opt to engrave their logo on a plaque, and these will be twice the size and take up two positions on the wall.
Plaques can be ordered in person or online by downloading & filling in the: order form.
The plaques come in two sizes:
- Individual Standard Size* (3.5”x 7.5”) with up to three lines of text. No images.
- Business Double Standard Size* (7”x7.5”) with logo and/or up to three lines of text.
Acceptable forms of payment:
- Paypal, debit or credit card visit: Our PayPal and note “2024 Donor Wall Plaque”.
- Checks payable to: Friends of the Round Rock Public Library, please note: 2024 Donor Wall Plaque.

What are engraved plaques?
Engraved plaques are standard bricks with additional engraved visual marks like phrases, special art, logos, or symbols that are intended to continue people’s legacy.
How are the plaques engraved?
Laser engraving.
What are the prices?
$300 for Individual Size and $600 for Business Size.
Why are the Friends starting this fundraising campaign?
The fundraising campaign will provide funding for the library’s wish list of items needed to serve patrons. The engraved plaques create a lifelong memorial for all the donors involved in the project.
What can I write on a plaque?
Engrave a message, text, or quote in honor, in memory of someone. Businesses may add their logo to the plaque. For more ideas, visit the current donor wall.
What is the goal for the fundraiser?
The Friends wish to raise $25,000.
Will the Friends pay sales tax?
Yes, the Friends are required by law to pay sales tax.
How long will it take to install my plaque?
The goal is to raise funds by the end of 2025 (Hopefully by November). We’ll install plaques 11 at a time and as of February 2025, we’re 4 plaques away from our next install.
What type of font can I choose?
The font will match the current plaques. We will closely match for non-Roman alphabets.
How many letters or characters per line of text can be engraved?
We suggest 15 to 20 spaces per line (including blank spaces, letters, and characters). This is our standard for engraved bricks or tiles without clip art. Each plaque will be reviewed, and we will work with the donor for any special requirement. We will not engrave images, photos, or artwork.
How can I pay for the plaque?
By appointment only, cash and checks are accepted in-person at the library administration office. Credit card and Paypal accepted online.
How many spaces are available?
There are about 70 remaining standard size, unused, plaque spaces available in the center section as of February 2025. Please note, if you want to install a “Corporate” square plaque, it will take up the space of 2 standard plaques.
