Written by: Julia M. Chambers

The Round Rock Public Library’s Summer Reading Program for kids, teens, and adults was an absolute hit this year! Running from June 5 to July 31, the program was packed with thrilling activities, challenges, and rewards, keeping everyone motivated and engaged. Even babies and toddlers had their own special challenge!

Youths of all ages had the chance to win fantastic prizes, with every 300 points earned granting an entry into the prize drawing. No need for physical tickets, as entries were automatically recorded.

Additionally, children and teens earned Book Bucks for their reading achievements, redeemable for books or prizes from the Book Buck Store. Adults had their own reading program, complete with extra credit missions for community engagement. Donations to local charities and supporting animal shelters earned them bonus points.

The library also partnered with local businesses, offering coupons and discounts to program completers. Grand prizes included a Dell Latitude Chromebook, a Samsung Galaxy Tablet, and a Ninja Mega Kitchen System – making the adult program fun too.

Round Rock Public Library’s Summer Reading Program didn’t just encourage reading, but also fostered community connections, introduced new friends, and led to the discovery of exciting books and authors.

Plus, it supported the library’s vital mission of promoting literacy and lifelong learning.
